Who We Are

Founded in 1936, the Doberman Pinscher Club of Northern California (DPCNC) is a group of Doberman Pinscher enthusiasts with diverse interests and backgrounds. Our members come from varied backgrounds, from AKC judges, breeders and vet techs to accountants, teachers and artists, and all the diversity in-between. Members have years of knowledge and experience, plus the  willingness to share with and learn from each other. Our members volunteer their time, talents, and resources to educate those who love the Doberman Pinscher breed.

DPCNC members are active in most sports and activities offered to the Doberman breed, and they promote responsible ownership, training, and public education. Agility, tracking, obedience, barn hunt, therapy work, dock diving, confirmation, working aptitude, even a herding dog in our time, have all been owned and loved by our members.

We come together each year for an AKC-approved “Specialty Show,” which is a confirmation and obedience event. Another of annual events is the Working Aptitude Evaluation, also known as a WAE. The evaluation helps owners know and understand the temperament of their dogs.

Club meetings are held six times a year and include special educational programs, planning for upcoming events and programs, and, of course, the famous “DPCNC Potluck Lunch.”

This is a wonderful environment for the first-time puppy owner to learn and the veteran owner to share and exchange information. The secret of any group of enthusiasts is a dedicated team that works for a common goal. Each of our members bring vision, love, and respect for the Doberman Pinscher breed. This dedication allows us to create events that are fun and educational.

We welcome all who may be interested to join us in our common interest, the Doberman Pinscher. We are committed to promoting and encouraging the breed and its standard and to do all that’s possible to bring its natural qualities to perfection.

If you are interested in joining or receiving more information on our group, please contact us at info@dpcnc.org.
